Dr. Kushalappa Subbiah
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Kushalappa Subbiah is a highly skilled and attentive orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He recently returned from a two-year stint in Australia training at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute where he completed two widely recognised fellowships in Shoulder, Elbow and Knee surgery. During his time in Australia, he gained deep experience at the Royal North Shore Hospital in New South Wales and was routinely involved in Rural healthcare at Dubbo Base Hospital.
Alongside his fellowship experience, Dr. Subbiah completed his Sports Medicine Diploma and graduated at the South Korean chapter of the (Full Form) (IOC) in 2023. Prior to his time in Australia, Dr. Subbiah worked extensively in India across renowned hospitals in Mumbai and Bangalore focussing his training on arthroscopic surgery. In Mumbai, he trained under leading arthroscopy surgeons and gained an exposure into treating elite Indian athletes from various sporting disciplines.
Medical Education
Dr. Subbiah completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2014, in Bangalore, where he received accolades of ‘Best Outgoing Student’ and ‘Best Sportsperson’. Thereafter, he completed his Master of Surgery (MS) in Orthopaedics with Distinction in 2017 from Mangalore.
He is passionate about sports and research-led based medicine, fusing the two to bring the best to the forefront of his practice and his career as an Orthopaedic. His keen interest in sports gives him a robust understanding of sports related injuries, shoulder and elbow biomechanics and the importance of returning to form.
Dr. Subbiah is appointed as a Consultant Shoulder Surgeon at the NH Hospital in Bangalore.
